Very tasty food and wonderful service. Just the right amount of spices, but prices are a bit sporty. The quality is right for the price.

It was full, but incredibly tasty, traditional Bavarian. We as lowland Tyroleans had a lot to do. The staff is super nice & attentive ... with great pleasure again.

You must book to eat here as it is extremely popular. A large traditional German menu selection. Our food tasted good and was served quickly. However the expirence of entering the building was stressful as there was one lady shouting names out of tables booked to everyone congregating by the front door to enter. My wife who is german had also called in advance to see if they would accept card payment which she was told they did. When we went to pay the bill at the end we said we would like to pay with card. This was met with uproar that we had the audacity to attempt to pay with a card as they did not accept this. The waitress then disappeared to investigate who had said on the phone to us that we could pay with a card. Apparantly no one did? So we then had to drive a 20 minute round trip to nearest functioning ATM to pay the bill. All in all, the food was ok but we will not likely be eating here again.

Despite the reservation we had to wait 20 minutes. The food was delicious, but we had the feeling that we had to hurry to clear the table as quickly as possible. It was also a shame that we weren't allowed to eat together but my companion had to wait another 12 minutes for your meal. The same thing happened to our next table.

Great food, very nice staff & moderate waiting times despite the full gas room. Will probably stop by again at the end of the vacation!

Super delicious food and nice service!

Quiet busy when we were there (Saturday Evening), we were lucky to still get a spot without reservation. Normal pricing, and huge, tasty meals. The red cabbage with the crust was excellent. Completely satisfied! The perfect place to treat yourself to a hearty meal after a long hike.

We were in the Spatzenhäus'l today and are simply thrilled! The food was excellent (knuckle and schnitzel hunter type) and the service was great! We will definitely come back on our next visit. Reservation generally recommended.

Quaint atmosphere, great food, host seemed grumpy, but there was also a lot to do. Total repetition possible! 4 stars +

The food in the Spatzenhäusl is amazing. Huge portions, perfectly prepared food, a great ambience and really friendly and warm staff, all at good, acceptable prices. Just amazing😍👍👍👍

Would like to give fewer stars if possible. We had reserved 2 days in advance. Still had to wait 30 minutes for a free table. Then wait another 30 minutes until someone came and brought us the menu. Whereby brought in throw is more likely to swap. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes before we could order. The drinks were finally there after 15 minutes. After another 30 minutes the waitress came, threw the menu back on the table and said the dish yy is over. I had a pork tenderloin with cream sauce, spaetzle and seasonal vegetables It came pork fillet in a pepper sauce with fries without vegetables. The second drink didn't even come. To the bill: appetizer was not charged at all. But she can bring us 6 drinks (4 we had), whereupon we said that we don't want that anymore when paying; Allegedly, there was no change, so we were given 20 ct. With the other couple at the table, the starter was not charged at all. But withholding 2 €. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she slammed it onto the table. Location top Far too many people without a reservation are distributed to tables that were actually reserved. Unfriendly and totally overwhelmed staff! Definitely the first and last time there.

The food was superb that first advance. Unfortunately, I still can't give a good rating because the service was underground. Reserved at 7.30 p.m. and passed the long waiting line, we were allowed to our table quickly. Then we waited 15 minutes for the menu, then 20 minutes for our drinks. It was pitch dark by the time we complained about where the food was and almost another hour had passed. When I asked when the food was coming, the answer was that it would come. After I told the waitress that I would give up my meal and that we would then pay, she only said that it was normal to wait 1 -1.5 hours for his meal .... At the next table, a guest was allowed to eat his grill without his wife, she got her meal 3/4 hour later and so it was for many that evening. Anyone who manages to spoil the evening with the service, despite the excellent food, is sure to be in good hands in the gastronomy. But anyway only the foreign guests are treated that way. The 3 ladies next door had meanwhile received food, dessert and aperitif. And a schnapps on the house! We would never come back here.

Free tables could be seen, but the statement on the door: "It's 8:30 pm. You won't get anything to eat here today, it would take until 10:00 pm - 10:30 pm anyway!" Just didn't feel like it?!?

A good home-style kitchen of a very good quality. - the interior is typically Bavarian / outdated (which doesn't matter as soon as you enjoy delicious food 😋) -Friendly service -The food arrived hot and promptly at the table - The restaurant was jam-packed (a reservation is recommended)

Dear Spatzelhaus, Grainau and especially the spatzelhaus have taught me there is no one in whole Grainau that has studied Hospitality. The rude talking to customers that are asking nicely if they can have a seat you get a waving head and hand suggesting that they are full. You can try the day after in the moment the restaurant opens and they will dare to tell you the same. Apparently this restaurant is doing so wel for them self's that they can be rude against their guests. I'm not here to shame or RIP a new one because we ate here once and the food was pretty good after a 20km hike. Fellow tourist dont go here if you wand to be treated rudely. Rather go to the pizzeria with friendly staff a secret special tomato sauce. Have a good one😁

Very nicely and rustically furnished. Friendly staff, very quick on the way. Good menu, adjusted prices. The food tastes good, decent portions, what more does the tourist heart want !? Highly recommended, reservation is an advantage.

Very tasty local cuisine. The cheese spaetzle is good for melting away. Just the thing after a long hike. The service is warm. We were there almost every day. Make a reservation in advance.

Do not eat here! The wine was watered down. When we expressed concern, the owner was defensive and rude. We asked for a doggy bag for our leftovers and just received a box to pack by ourselves!!

Fantastic food amd service!

Wonderful place to have dinner, great atmosphere! We had the rumpsteak and pork fillet, the taste was real good. With friendly staff who ii willing to help tourists, we had wonderful time there! One tiny disadvantage is they do not have English menu and we had to use google translate

Their website says open till 10pm but we arrive at 8:30 and we get a VERY disrespectful response KITCHEN IS CLOSED! Since this is a tourist town I suppose they don't feel they need to be respectful to customers. We'll take our party of 10 to another place.

Probably ok if you are German. Avoid if you are from the UK. We waited 2hrs to be served even though we had young children. People arrived 1hr after us and were served before us. Chips were cold. Food was okay.

We went for a "small lunch" in the afternoon and ordered the ham and cheese platter. The service was very friendly, the food tasted very good and the cyclist too. The outdoor area is also top and nice shady.

Highly recommended. My family of 5 ate here last night. We were led to a cozy, wood-paneled back room despite not having made a reservation. We ordered schnitzel in 3 variations: natural, with cream and mushrooms, and with cheese and bacon. All three were delicious. The salads were crisp and fresh. Our service was wonderful. Our server was patient with our English.

The food is fantastic if you don't mind waiting an hour+. Staff could be friendlier. Saying that, it might only be like that when it's particularly busy. Prices are ok for the quality of the food.

Two ladies are making a good job keeping this place in very good shape. Delicious and large portions served. Excellent service. The menu does not come.in an English version but they the staff is very patient and will help you order. The food is exceptional and the ambiance is just perfect. They have a boisterous main room and a quiet side room to suit your taste

The cheesy spatzel and the schnitzel with mushrooms were AMAZING! The place was packed, and we still got good service. Would recommend to a friend.

Seems a bit short handed as we waited about 25 minutes to pay, but wished to move on in part to free up another table for them! Otherwise this would be a five star review. Sit outside and enjoy the view of Zugspitze from the front area..
